22 September 2009

Today is the first day of Autumn. This is my favorite season. Not only because it’s my color season, but also because in this season when we prepare for winter we

drive to the local apple orchard, enjoy the smells, and bring home bushels of apples,

listen to the dry leaves crunching under little, happy feet,

smell the smoke of a flaming campfire,

watch the fields of corn that surround us being harvested,

feel the crisp breeze warning of what is fast approaching, and

sip warm apple cider on a chilly morning.

What comes to mind when you think of Autumn?

If you are looking for a couple of lovely giveaways, be sure to stop by:

I love autumn! It’s always so exciting for me when the weather changes and the evenings become cooler. I also think of getting bushels of apples-canning apple juice and sauce, apple butter, etc. I also think of those evenings in the not too distant future when we as a family will gather around a cozy, crackling fireplace. I also greatly look forward to the changing leaves-the colors are just so vivid and beautiful here in Tennessee during the autumn!

Thanks for a great post; this is an exciting time of the year!

What amazing photography and such a lovely post!

When I think of autumn I think of…
    *Weather getting refreshingly cooler
*Warm apple pie with freshly picked apples, straight out of the oven!
    *The delightful crunch of leaves

Have a nice day, delighting in the Lord!

    Uh… Winnie the Pooh!! :)

Our Autumn isn’t like America’s. Our Autumn is very bright and colourful (probably more like your spring), with beautiful weather. Though I must say America’s Autumn is very intriguing and would love to enjoy one one day!

When I think of autumn I think of pumpkin bread or zucchini bread. Sometimes I make banana/zucchini bread. I am going to blog my recipe for it on Friday. Yummmm!
If you like giveaways I’m having an autumn themed giveaway on my blog too. ;)

When I think of autumn, my mind goes straight to winter. That’s when we actually get cold weather (here in FL).
I love the time from preparing for Thanksgiving to New Years Day. Cold weather, family in town, adorable decorations and people seem to just be generally happier!

    :)

I think of camping. . . wrapped in a scarf and blanket by the fire, sipping piping hot apple cider.

. . . Lighting candles around the house. Reading a book on a cold day while the wind carries away the brown and russet leaves. Watching the birds migrate and not noticing the last robin’s song of the year.
