Joy is more than a smile, it is an attitude of the heart which permeates your entire being. It affects all of life, how you handle situations, and how you reach out to others. As Mum said, “[joy] is internal and eternal.” And there’s only one place to find and have true joy – it is found in the Lord.

“You make known to me the path of life;
in Your presence there is fullness of joy;
at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
—Psalm 16:11

    Hi Emily! I’m so glad I found your website thru your mom’s site. You are a beautiful girl, inside & out, and an inspiration to me as I strive to teach my children as well as your parents taught theirs! I also love your photography! Simply beautiful! Thank you for sharing your heart!

    Thank you so much, Emily! Would you perhaps be able to refer me to a good book on embroidery? It has been many years since I have really taken on a project, and both my 7yo and I want to start! I need a refresher, though, especially if I am going to also teach my daughter.

    I have some of the etsy designs on my Mother’s Day wish list!

    Blessings for your weekend!

    Lori, that will be delightful to embroider alongside your daughter (I have many fond memories of stitching with my mother)! For books that include embroidery instructions and examples, you might take a look at The Embroidery Stitch Bible and The Needlecraft Book – your local library might have these on their shelves.

    Beautiful pictures to go along with a beautiful post. I love how you opened it:

    Joy is more than a smile, it is an attitude of the heart which permeates your entire being. It affects all of life, how you handle situations, and how you reach out to others.

    That’s so true. Joy isn’t just a smile we put on our face!
